Today’s consumer is very different than that of the past. With the explosion of the Internet, mobile, social media & more, today’s consumer has access to everything they want, when they want it and this has led to some major changes in how they act, communicate, make life and business decisions, and more. They have changed the way they consume media and are constantly being overwhelmed with marketing in all aspects of their daily lives. This has changed the role of the REALTORⓇ, the way they interact with consumers, tools they use to properly service them and market their business and more. At the same time, the real estate industry has become a major target for cyber crimes and digital fraud, plus there are many legal pitfalls and policies from the National Association of REALTORSⓇ (NAR) you could fall prey to which could endanger your business and/or license. In this course, we will explore all of these challenges and more to ensure you work with and market to consumers and run your real estate business and a safe and compliant manner.

The contract is an essential legal document that all real estate agents must understand thoroughly. This class will discuss the basics of contract formation including the three requirements of every valid contract. It will go through each section of the standard contract with a special emphasis on areas that have created confusion or other issues in many real estate transactions. In addition, this class covers extrinsic issues pertaining to the contract. It answers the questions: How do I represent an Estate in a real estate transaction? What if my clients are going through a divorce? How will my real property be taxed if I sell it? This class will give agents the skills to successfully navigate these difficult but common challenges. Finally, it will cover the rules of handling multiple offers.

Fairhaven: A Fair Housing Simulation is an online interactive simulation training in which agents will confront discrimination in real estate transactions from the point of view of both agent and client. The simulation portion was created and is copyrighted by NAR. KRI is proud to have partnered with NAR to provide this education.
In the training, agents work against the clock to sell homes in the fictional town of Fairhaven, confronting various scenarios in which discrimination gets in the way. Agents make choices about how to handle each scenario, advancing through the simulation based on their answers. At each step, the course provides actionable feedback to give agents the tools to prevent and address discrimination in their daily business transactions.
In an innovative approach, the course also puts agents in the role of a client experiencing discrimination. The client point-of-view scenarios are paired with powerful video testimonials illustrating the impact of housing discrimination in real people’s lives. The course’s use of storytelling and experiential learning is intended to drive deep introspection, willing acceptance of the principles of fair housing, and lasting behavior change.
